The same thing happens to my oldy. When he acts up I take his leash and teather it to a railing or leave the room for a few minutes. This helps him settle down. All he wants to do is play and he doesnt realize how rough he is.
Snubbull used to run amuck every now and then – just for fun. BUT she is extremely strong and when she started play biting us it was no longer funny. We bought a NZ$1.99 water pistol and shot her straight between the eyes. She is not afraid of water but the water pistol terrifies her. We only did it once but to this day as soon as we show her the water pistol she takes off! We found it a cheap, harmless and effective way to stop her in her tracks. I have since heard that it can be used to control excessive barking in all breeds also! Give it a go. For a few dollars you have nothing to lose and your pet will not come to any harm either. Good luck.
we’ve had the same thing happen with chopper my 1 year old. we also used the water idea. we use a spray bottle that sprays a direct stream at him and he stops right away, and hes not afraid of water either in fact he loves his baths and play pool.
my bulldog jaxon never bites me, but he attacks any one who comes near me. i dont know what to do. ive tried every thing. he put my mom in the hospitle cause she came late from work can some one help me?
Our English Bully is over 2 years old now and instead of calming down- he’s getting more out of controll. He now snaps in our face…extremely needy for attention but will attack when stop petting. He’s fixed and if anything, that’s made him hornier. I love him to death but he’s a monster!!! hehe
let him run it off more and you will see it is just his need to get it out of his system ,evry dog has his own personality too so try to act like you ar the boss whenever the opertunity comes up like when you get visiters or food or bed time make him sleep somwhare els other than in your bed you can show this (without)! punishment just take charg of your hous(those changes will let the big guy know he is not #1) and can keep any passiv agressions to a min and read up on some dog communication skills too ,learning is key.
just like any american bulldog, they are very strong and powerful, socializing them at an early age, and , most important!!!, TRAINING< TRAINING< TRAINING. start this as soon as you can, 8 weeks is not too young. and remember that training never ever stops. be committed to your AB and they will be forever committed to you.
